Reading ASCII data

There is a lot of legacy data around today written in ASCII. Common formats are

• the SPEC file format

• FIO used at DESY

• various files using a key-value based format (like the INI files)

• and many more

• The low-level ASCII interface
• Spreadsheet like ASCII files
